All About Us

All About Us project recognised with Inspire Mark

The London 2012 Inspire programme recognises innovative and exceptional projects that are directly inspired by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

All About Us, led by Lets Go Global (LGG), will develop a new arts and technology programme for different communities across the 10 local authorities of Greater Manchester (AGMA). It has four core themes that will work to inspire, educate, provide opportunities, and bring communities together with artists to exchange ideas and learn new creative technology skills.

It is inspired by the Olympic tradition of making the games ‘everyone’s games’ by celebrating community, art, culture and sport. All About Us will have an interactive web presence utilising WordPress as well as an active social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Flickr to enable people to communicate and celebrate their achievements.

LGG will be working with the arts and cultural development teams in each Local Authority to develop the delivery of a local project. The direction of each project will be led by the communities involved.

Examples of the types of works being developed include creating light projec tions at The Met in Bury, working with Brass Bands from Tameside who want to broadcast themselves live over the web, and in Trafford a digital dance project is being developed to showcase at the Waterside Arts centre in 2012. The project is also working in partnership with the AND festival to make short videos that will play on the big screens at MediaCityUK.
