MA-NET Residency – Call for expressions of interest

Media Arts Network would like to hear from artists interested in working with Salford University’s Creative Technology & Communications Research Centre.
The core work of the Creative Technology & Communications Research Centre focuses on redefining and developing digital and electronic technologies and concepts for creative arts, applications and solutions that enhance human interaction and cultural engagement. Working across disciplines ranging from interactive media arts and performance to virtual environments and artificial life experiments, this is a leading research centre in its field.

MA-NET would like to hear from emerging artists whose practice involves working in interdisciplinary ways to explore new and emerging human-technology interfaces, and whose practice would benefit from the technologies available through the Creative Technology and Communications Research Centre. The artist would be supported by MA-NET, Lets Go Global, The Creative Technology & Communications Research Centre, The Digital Performance Lab and The Quays Programming Group.
Budget/timescales:
The total fee available for the residency is £3,000 (including VAT).
The deadline for proposals is 10th January 201. The residency would take place between February and May 2012
Proposal guidelines:
- A written proposal, no more than 500 words outlining your current interests, how you would use the resources available at the The Creative Technology & Communications Research Centre to develop your practice and what you would hope to achieve.
- An indicative budget and timescale.
- Up to five examples of previous/current work. If the proposal is to develop and existing piece of work or research then please supply some documentation of this. Web links or DVDs preferred. Please do not submit any originals of artworks or anything which requires return.
- A CV or biography, which includes your contact details.
